Our 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon features a nicely focused bouquet of ripe black cherry, red currant with hints of shaved dark chocolate and seamless oak integration. The wine is richly flavored, medium to full weight, neatly balanced and surprisingly polished given its age. With a fine tannin finish and beautiful detail throughout, it will complement a wide variety of foods. Perfect for classic Duck Breast, Beef Filet or even Salmon with a red wine reduction, but just as good with casual Backyard Barbecue. Drink now through 2010 and beyond. The cost is $45 per bottle. We have been making Sauvignon Blanc for other wineries for a few years and finally decided it was time to put our label on it; we certainly hope you will enjoy it. It was made with the simple goal of allowing the varietal to shine: 100% stainless steel fermentation, no oak, and no malolactic fermentation. You will find it fruity with good tones of citrus (but no bright lime or lemon), melon, and berries, a body that has a fairly delicate but firm structure, and a lingering aftertaste that will complement your seafood salad, crab cakes, or even meat skewers such as Thai peanut chicken. We chose to use a screwcap instead of a cork and you can find out why in our discussion on closures. The cost is $20 per bottle. We finally found a corkscrew that works well, is well well-constructed and durable, and appealing, and so we had a couple hundred printed with our logo and here we are. If you have ordered wine from us in the past, you know that we always send a gift as a way of saying thank-you: we will probably send these for a while, or maybe wine glasses, or DropStops. Morey Cellars Logo Wine Glass Candle

You can one-up those who have the Morey Cellars Logo Wine Glasses by having the candle version! These are our standard logo glasses but we had them filled with scented wax at the Napa Valley Candle Factory. According to Bob Boucher, the owner of the Napa Valley Candle Factory, they have a high dose of stearic acid--indicative of high quality candles--and, therefore, burn for hours plus have a very pleasant fragrance--somewhere between a light vanilla and a fresh grape juice. Expect them to burn almost ten times longer than a cheap candle from another country. They cost $7.00 each and, given that they are quite heavy, shipping is $6.00 per order.

DropStop

We truly believe that you cannot pour wine without using a DropStop! This round mylar disk inserts easily into the bottle neck and allows you to pour wine without spilling a single drop. Our first encounter with this item was in 2000 and, six years later, we must confess that we are still using the same one (although we really should use the Morey Cellars DropStop from now on...). Just put in the bottle, pour your wine, and then rinse when done. They seem to last forever... The price for each Morey Cellars logo DropStop is $2.50 plus $0.50 shipping per order.

Bunch O' Vines

Some of our favorite barbecue connoisseurs have told us that they enjoy tossing some dried grape vine branches on the fire while they're grilling their favorite meats. Because of this, we have started drying our Cabernet Sauvignon branches and putting them in a nice bundle that can be easily tossed on a roaring fire. You can either barbecue with them but we must say that they also look nice on the mantle above the fireplace. Or as a Christmas decoration.
