2003...
December 22, 2003: Morey Cellars is extremely pleased to be placed on the wine list of the Wild Fox Restaurant in Novato, California. Just north of San Francisco, this restaurant is truly a gem among Marin County restaurants. The fare includes steaks and chops, along with a wide variety of soups, salads, pastas, and seafood. Their wine list matches the wide variety of offerings and includes classics as well as new releases. It is a definite must for anyone who appreciates fine steaks and good wine.
December 1, 2003: We are pleased to announce that sales of Morey Cellars' inaugural vintage, a 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon from St. Helena, went very well. We learned that many friends who bought a couple of bottles after the release in October came back with a shopping list for their friends, clients, and associates. The feedback we have received from these new friends confirms that our inaugural release is as good as we know it is.
November 17, 2003: Morey Cellars was the featured wine for the Thanksgiving dinner at one of the Wyndham Hotels in South San Francisco. Paired with a traditional offering of turkey, sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce, our wine was a hit! We are sure that more than a few weary travelers, away from their homes while working, were very pleased with our wine.
November 9, 2003: We would like to congratulate Mr. Gallagher who won a bottle of Morey Cellars 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon at this year's Angel Bazaar at St. Apollinaris Church. At $75, we are very pleased with the "bidding war" that took place. Last year, Monsignor Joseph Alzugaray won the very first bottle we ever produced, fresh off the bottling line! We are happy to support St. Apollinaris and its efforts in the community.
October 5, 2003: We are very pleased to support FUNDVEC - Fundacion Venezoelana Educacion y Cultura, by donating wine for their first annual fundraiser. FUNDVEC is building libraries for needy children in Venezuela and we encourage their hard work as best we can.
October 1, 2003: Our inaugural wine--a 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon from a celebrated vineyard in St. Helena--is officially released. This wine has enjoyed the best care, the best barrels, and the best winemaking techniques. We are very pleased with this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine and look forward to releasing our subsequent vintages to our friends. Very much a Bordeaux-style wine, delicate, nuanced, with good character, it is definitely drinkable now although we are sure that it will come into its own in 2 to 5 years. But we are not patient enough to wait!
